Before embarking on his lifetime of service to The Lord, The Rev. Billy Graham attended church and was baptized in Palatka...in Silver Lake Pond.  Soon afterwards, he gave his first sermon at Palatka's Peniel Baptist Church.

When the mural was finished, the Rev. Graham came to see it. During his visit with members of the Conlee-Snyder Mural Committee, he shared many fond memories of his time in Palatka.

What's this, you ask?  Muralist Terry Smith often tucks a bit of whimsy into his murals.  On this particular mural, he painted this tiny mouse peeking out from behind the left porch post of the church.
